Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians
of 8th Grade Students,
We finally have all the information we
need to proceed with our plans for this year's 8th grade
trip. You will get an official itinerary when we have our
general meeting right before the trip but in the meantime
here are a few highlights: Bronx Zoo, Madame Tussaud's Wax
Museum, the Sony Wonder Technology Laboratory, a New York
Harbor Cruise, Ground Zero, a Broadway show and a Medieval
Times dinner theatre.
The trip will take place June 5-6,
2008 and will cost $350 per person. Your payment will cover
the cost of the busses, one night at the Holiday Inn
Hasbruck Heights in New Jersey with security, three meals,
all guides, admissions, taxes and tips.
The number of adults going on the trip
is a crucial element for the supervision of our students and
we would like to thank all of you that volunteered to
chaperone. We are still in the process of contacting
interested chaperones. The cost for chaperones is also $350
and needs to be paid in full by the chaperone meeting we
will have in May, 2008. Chaperones will receive a packet
that contains a volunteer sheet and a CORI form to fill out
and return to school.
Students will also be given a packet
of forms in early February to fill out and return to school
as quickly as possible. This packet contains a suggested
packing list, medical forms and permission slips.
Early in the spring we will hold a
required meeting for chaperones and a required meeting for
all parents of students going on the trip. This meeting will
finalize information for everyone and we will be able to
answer any questions you might have at that time.
